It goes along with the tone on her face. The vibrant white of the cleaning womans outfit sticks out against the dark, warm, red background. The harsh angles of this painting also attracted me to it. The womans dress jutting out in the front, and yellow-gold assure frame in the background that has harsh corners give it a sharp, distinct look that I love.

All of these q uestions ran through my mind as I worked on! this piece. It also seems as I worked on this I created stories as to why this woman had the expression on her face that she does.
